Marleine Hilde Minko, Head of Cooperation at Kribi Port Authority (PAK – Port Autonome de Kribi) in Cameroon, describes the challenges behind the port’s digital and green ambitions. Kribi opened with paperless procedures in 2018, but exchanging data between systems and keeping them reliably online remain difficult. Power is another priority: the port began operating with costly diesel generators, and a new electricity line, expected by the end of 2027, aims to help meet users’ needs.
Ms. Minko was a panellist in the TrainForTrade’s session “Green Investments in the Port Sector” at UNCTAD’s World Investment Forum 2026 in Doha, Qatar.
