Modern Port Management Course: Final dissertations in Gabon and launch of Cycle 9 – January 15-19, 2024

As part of the activities of the French-speaking network of the TrainForTrade Port Management Programme, the trainees of the 8th cycle of the port communities of Libreville and Port Gentil (12 women 40%) successfully completed all eight modules of the course on Modern Port Management (240 hours) from 2021 to the end of 2023. With the supervision of local port experts trained by UNCTAD, the trainees also wrote a thesis consisting of a case study concerning a real problem and providing concrete recommendations to improve the performance of their port community.

From January 15 – 19 in Libreville, Gabon the 29 trainees from the 8th promotion of the modern Port Management Programme will defend their theses in front of a jury made up of international experts who are also members of the TrainForTrade network. Participants will present their case studies to obtain TrainForTrade’s Port certificate.

In addition to completing Cycle 8 of the Port Management Programme, Cycle 9 will also be launched where another 25-30 port professionals are planned to begin the programme from Libreville and Port-Gentil.
