Delivery of Module 4 of the Modern Port Management Course in Ghana, 20 – 24 Feb
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]TrainForTrade, in cooperation with Ghana Ports & Harbours Authority (GPHA) local organising committee, is currently delivering Module 4 of the Modern Port Management Course from 20 to 24 February 2017 in Takoradi. 27 middle managers from the port communities of Ghana who are enrolled in the UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Management Programme is participating in the course.
The module is being delivered by a port expert from Ireland, along with senior managers from GPHA who have been certified by TrainForTrade as local trainers. The fourth of the eight training modules examines the future challenges to ports, with a focus on the main functions of commercial ports in the third millennium.
Ghana is undertaking the fourth cycle of the Port Management Programme. Each training cycle lasts 16 to 24 months and comprises 240 hours of in-class training and a final thesis. The deliveries are both led by UNCTAD and international instructors (Irish port experts), as well as local senior managers who have completed the training- of-trainers workshop.
