Almost 1700 participants improved their trade statistics skills

TrainForTrade has greatly improved the skills and knowledge of 1689 participants from 171 countries or areas in international trade in services statistics. The six-week e-learning course offered dedicated support and enthusiastic moderators throughout. It included six informative modules and two engaging webinars. This course was organized in English and French.

The participants mainly included trade data compilers from national statistics offices, central banks, ministries of trade, and customs offices. 42% of the participants were women. The largest participant groups came from the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Nigeria.

The course received an 84% satisfaction rate from participants. Many said that the practical skills and knowledge they gained will be very helpful in their professional lives.

“I will apply the knowledge to improve the quality and accuracy of my work, particularly in compiling trade statistics, analyzing foreign affiliate data, or reporting on international services. Additionally, the soft skills acquired, such as critical thinking and data interpretation, will be valuable in both my professional and personal development,” commented Salifou Boulkassim from Guyana.

“The knowledge I acquired will be highly useful for improving the quality of any information I could elaborate on, as well as for interpreting data related to the trade services sector. Additionally, the soft skills I developed – such as critical thinking and comparative analysis – will strengthen my performance both professionally and in collaborative projects,” noted Ana Gabriela Buendía Muro from Peru.

“The acquired skills, particularly the ability to correctly interpret trade statistics, will have direct application in my work by improving the quality of analysis, developing informed strategies, and mitigating risks in international economic activities. The course significantly enhanced my analytical agility and capacity to work with global data,” thought Olena Honcharenko from Ukraine.

Since 2016, over 9000 participants from 209 countries or regions have enrolled in the Statistics of International Trade in Services course, with women accounting for 45%.
