In the framework of the UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Training Programme, a Training of Trainers Workshop will be held from 5 to 15 May 2015 in Cork, Republic of Ireland. The workshop is co-organized by the Port of Cork Company with the support of Dublin Port Company and Belfast Harbour Commissioners and will be held at the premises of the University College Cork.
19 senior managers from the member ports of the English-speaking network of the Programme (Ghana, Nigeria, Indonesia, the Philippines), as well as a participant from Sri Lanka, will be trained on the contents and delivery of modules 5-8 of the course on Modern Port Management. This will complete a training held last year at Dublin Port Company covering modules 1-4. The objective of this event is to prepare the senior port managers for their roles as future instructors in their port communities.
The English-speaking network of the Port Training Programme benefits from the kind support of Irish Aid.
The Secretary General of UNCTAD, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, will attend the certificate awarding ceremony, which will be presided by Seán Sherlock TD, Minister of State for Development, Trade Promotion & North-South Co-operation of Ireland.
