Manila, Philippines (6-12 May 2014)
UNCTAD will launch its TRAINFORTRADE Port Training Progamme in the Philippines on 6 May 2014. The programme will be organized over the next two years in collaboration with Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Cebu Ports Authority (CPA), as well as the private operators Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI), International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTS), Manila North Harbour Port Inc., and Prudential Customs Brokerage Services Inc.
Following the launch of the programme, the first training module will be delivered from 6 to 12 May 2014. Twenty-five middle managers from the ports in the Philippines will be trained on port issues related to international trade and transport, in particular the role of the port in the international supply chain.
The module will be delivered by senior managers from the public and private entities mentioned above, who were recently trained as instructors by UNCTAD. These instructors will be assisted by a senior port manager from Dublin Port Company, one of the programme’s European port partners.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
