Delivery of Module 3 in Abuja
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]From 14-18 December, 20 middle managers from the port communities of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) enrolled in the UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Training Programme will participate in the 3rd of eight training modules of the Modern Port Management Course. Module 3 examines the external functions of a port system in the areas of safety, cargo and handling.
The module will be delivered by a port expert from Dublin Port Company (DPC), together with NPA senior managers who have been certified as local trainers during the Coaching Workshop conducted by TrainForTrade in Abuja in February this year.
Nigeria is currently on the 1st cycle of the UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Training Programme. Each training cycle lasts 16 to 24 months and comprises 240 hours of in-class training and a final thesis. The deliveries are both led by UNCTAD and international instructors (Irish port experts), as well as local senior managers who have completed the training- of-trainers workshop. This training strategy highlights the uniqueness and strength of the TrainForTrade Port Training Programme in fostering local ownership to reinforce the training’s impact and ensure its sustainability. Local ownership of the programme is achieved through a financing scheme that requires the participating ports to provide the majority of the programme’s funds, and by gradually shifting responsibility for implementing the programme from UNCTAD to the participating ports.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1755″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” image_hovers=”false” css=”.vc_custom_1562529891094{margin-top: 50px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Contacts:
